In the midst of all of the turmoil that’s currently happening in Los Angeles, yesterday I received some exciting news. I’m thrilled to share that next Wednesday, during the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat game, I will be honored by the Los Angeles Lakers and Comerica Bank as part of their Women’s Business Awards. I’m deeply humbled to be recognized as the Woman of Diversity, an award that celebrates women who serve as role models and breakthrough agents in our multicultural city of Los Angeles.
This award is particularly meaningful because it reflects the heart of what Shero Comics stands for—empowering diverse voices, breaking barriers, and inspiring future generations to dream big and create boldly.
The journey to this moment has been one of hard work, persistence, and unwavering belief in the power of storytelling to create change. Through Shero Comics, I have had the privilege to celebrate women and girls of color as heroes of their own stories and foster spaces where they can see themselves as leaders, creators, and innovators.
I am incredibly grateful to the Lakers and Comerica Bank for this recognition and for shining a spotlight on the importance of diversity and mentorship. Moments like these are reminders of why I do what I do — because representation matters, and every story has the power to inspire.
If you’ll be at the game, look out for the pregame presentation! For those who can’t make it, I’ll be sharing updates and highlights across Shero Comics’ social media channels, so stay tuned.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for your continued support. Together, we are building something truly impactful, and this recognition is a win for all of us.
Here’s to breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of leaders and storytellers!
