The Queen of Comics
My geek girl life began at the tender age of three when I received my first pair of Spider-Man pajamas (pictured). My earliest memories are of me playing Atari with my uncles, Nintendo with my cousins, and then I had my pinnacle geek moment when I attended Space Camp as a pre-teen.
However, it wasn’t until I was a teenager that I was introduced to comics by my late grandmother, who used to deliver the funny pages to me on Sunday mornings.
A Sheroes Journey...
My traditional Sunday morning comic strip exchange with my grandmother grew to include trips to the local grocery store where I would purchase “Archie & Veronica” comic books. In my small hometown, Salisbury, North Carolina, these were the only comic books available.
After college, I began dabbling in comic book creation (pictured) before moving to Hollywood to pursue a career in screenwriting. However, it wasn’t until nearly a decade later, when I went to the movies to see Iron Man, that I had an epiphany that I could write comics and screenplays simultaneously.
