About Me

A Distinguished Leader

Born and raised in Salisbury, North Carolina, I grew up an only child with a big imagination and an insatiable thirst for creativity. When I wasn’t writing poems, raps, or short stories, I was busy playing video games, attending Space Camp, and directing my younger cousins in dance-offs.

As an adult, my imagination and creativity have only gotten bigger, my writing…better. Not only am I still playing video games, I’m now developing them. Instead of directing cousin-led dance-offs, I’ve moved on to movie stars. And while Space Camp is a distant memory, I’ve rebooted my experiences by adding a few aliens and will soon be pitching it to Netflix as a dystopian sci-fi movie.

Someone once asked me when did I know that I was destined to become a storyteller. Looking back, I can’t remember a time when I was ever anything else.

Getting to Know Me!

I’m originally from Salisbury, North Carolina. After college, I moved to Los Angeles, California and I’ve lived here for 20 years.

With the time it takes to research, outline, and write dialogue, I  can usually write a comic book in four to six weeks.

I learned to write comics by reading a LOT of comic books and comic strips. I also learned to write comics by reading several how-to books and resource guides about comic book creation.

My favorite graphic novel is “The Road to Perdition.” My favorite manga is “Sailor Moon.” My favorite comic book is anything “Wonder Woman.”
